Our Story to Date:

Coyne Research is a multi-award winning market research agency established in January 2012. Since then, Coyne Research has developed a strong reputation for high quality research and a respectable client list.

Award Winning Research:

We are immensely proud to operate at the forefront of the research and marketing industry. In 2015, our research for Lidl won the Market Research award at the AIM All-Ireland Marketing Awards. This followed the the Marketing Society Brand Development and Strategy award and the overall ‘Grand Prix’ for our Lidl Brand Challenge research in 2013 and the Excellence in Qualitative Research award in 2012 for our 360º Pensions Research conducted on behalf of Irish Life. Coyne Research projects were shortlisted for the Advertising and Creative Development Awards in both 2013 and 2012, for research conducted on behalf of Drink Aware and Coors Light, respectively. We also won a 2014 Emerging New Business award from the Small Firms Association, also in 2014 our Managing Director Bernie Coyne was shortlisted for Female Entrepreneur of the year award.

Our People


Bernadette Coyne



Bernie Coyne is the Managing Director of Coyne Research, founding the company in 2012. She is the consummate researcher with over 20 years’ experience in the industry and an in-depth knowledge of brand, advertising and consumer research. Bernie has a reputation for tackling tricky brand research briefs and high level strategic insight projects. Her experience covers a wide range of industries including financial services, FMCG, telecoms and pharmaceutical research. A Maynooth University graduate in sociology, geography and maths; and past Chairman of the Alumni Association, Bernie also has post-graduate qualifications in education (HDipEd) and marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK). Bernie completed the Certificate and Diploma in Company Direction, IOD Chartered Director Programme in 2013. Prior to forming the company, Bernie was Managing Director of Amárach Research, Founder and Managing Director of Research Solutions and a Director with Lansdowne Market Research.

Sabrina Barbour


Sabrina has worked in the industry since 2006, starting in Research Solutions and holding positions in a number of Market Research agencies since then. She has extensive experience in all things admin and is an expert in charting, having worked closely with research executives on quant and qual projects large and small. Sabrina joined the team here at Coyne in early 2016, taking up the position of Office Manager. She brings enthusiasm, organisation and efficiency to the role. Liaising constantly with all staff and suppliers, her assistance in the day to day operations of the company ensures all our systems run smoothly. Sabrina still keeps a hand in charting, mainly through mentoring newer team members.

Jason Clarke



Jason joined Coyne Research in 2014 after graduating from NUI Galway with a B.Sc. in computer science and information technology. It was through this course that he gained experience in programming and data processing. Jason heads up the Data Analysis Team in Coyne Research, ensuring all data analysis and statistical exercises are carried out to a high standard.

Shane O’Gorman



Shane graduated from Maynooth University in 2017 with a B.Sc in Applied Maths and Statistics. It was through this course that he gained experience in analysing datasets and interpreting the results. Shane joined Coyne Research at the beginning of 2018 and works as part of the Data Analysis team. So far, he has gained experience in online survey scripting, quantitative methodologies and analysis whilst working on projects in a wide variety of sectors.

Lesley Kelleher



A graduate of DIT with a BSc in Marketing and Management, Lesley began her career with Research Solutions, becoming Associate Director at Amárach Research following its acquisition. After six years working there, Lesley joined W5 Marketing Intelligence where she was responsible for team leadership and the development and management of a number of customer experience measurement programmes. She joined Coyne Research in October 2013 with a wealth of experience as a dualist researcher, spanning a variety of methodologies and across a broad range of sectors. Lesley has a strong background in financial services, telecommunications and utilities research, and has a particular interest in anything food or drink related.

Shauna Callagy



Shauna graduated from NUI Maynooth with a B.A. in English and Sociology and from there went on to complete a MSc. in Business Management. It was during this course that she developed a particular interest in business advancement through marketing and strategic research. Shauna joined Coyne Research in 2014, working as a dual researcher across both qualitative and quantitative methodologies. She has a broad experience base across FMCG, telecoms, pharma, retail, financial services, utilities, travel and the public sector and she uses this to apply cross sector learnings on her projects.

Seán Gildea



Having studied Business, Economics & Social Studies in Trinity College Dublin, Seán went on to complete a Masters in UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School in 2016 where he studied an MSc in Marketing Practice. This course placed a strong emphasis on market research and Seán worked across a variety of industries with a broad range of clients from start-ups to large multinationals carrying out extensive research on their behalf and advising them on their major marketing and strategic initiatives.Seán joined the team at Coyne research in Feb 2017 and so far, has gained experience in conducting market research through both qualitative and quantitative techniques, including brand tracking, creative testing, and other quantitative data analysis. Seán is also trained in video editing and animated statistical video creation which helps present data in a more engaging and digestible manner.

Alice Wainwright



Alice has a BA in Historical Studies and an MA in Public Policy Research from Newcastle University. She worked at GfK NOP in London for over 4 years specialising in quantitative research across a broad range of sectors including; utilities, retail, travel, transport, regulation and government bodies. Whilst at GfK she completed her MRS diploma in Market and Social Research Practice. More recently Alice worked at Nielsen in Ireland as an Account Manager for various FMCG clients. Alice joined the Coyne Research team in August 2014 and is involved in both quantitative and qualitative projects.

Conor Comerford



Conor holds a BA in English, Media and Cultural Studies and has been working in the market research industry since 2008. He began his career with Behaviour & Attitudes, and spent over six years there, ultimately developing and contributing to both long-term tracking and ad-hoc studies. He has worked across a wide variety of sectors including FMCGs, financial services, telecoms, utilities and hospitality, and has lengthy experience in quantitative methodologies and analysis. Conor joined the Coyne Research team in 2015 and is involved in both qualitative and quantitative methodologies within Coyne Research.

Ruth Gavigan



Ruth is Head of Accounts and Payroll at Coyne Research. Bright and ultra-organised Ruth looks after the finances and makes sure all the numbers add up for both clients and ourselves at Coyne Research!
