Recent research conducted by Coyne Research show that 2 in 5 mortgage holders, in the Republic of Ireland, find it difficult to repay their mortgage each month. Opinions are split as to how mortgage debt should be dealt with, with 37% agreeing that no one should be able to get their mortgage debt written off by the banks, and 32% disagreeing. 1 in 2 of the Irish population agree that banks should not be able to repossess people’s homes
